I'm Here

Clara Luiselli and Giuseppe Jos Olivini

The opening of the exhibition INNER SPACE coincides with the open days at the Aranno LandArt Association. For the occasion, Luiselli and Olivini will create during the artist residency the work I'm Here a large-scale stone installation that will house engraved maps on its surface, the result of a graphic connection between plant forms (photographed in situ) and visually related ancient city plants.

Each once engraved will be treated with gold (in leaf), a material at once precious and light-reflective that symbolically leads back to the alchemical process. The stone can be considered the constitutive "minimal base" of a settlement, a building, the beginning of what we can call home. The etymology of the word house indicates, in a literal sense, a place that provides shelter, protects and defends from the outside but, above all, sets a boundary between an "inside" and an "outside." This physical space imbued with symbolic and emotional meanings becomes an ancestral space containing the values of intimacy held in our inner world.

The project includes a sound section that will be constructed through an operation of collecting and on-site recording of natural sound events that "composed" will form a frame with the visual. The reference is to concrete music, soundscapes and graphic music.
